Obituary

Catherine May Langford, of West Point, Georgia, passed away on March 29, 2024 in West Point. She was born on September 7, 1936 in Whitesburg, Georgia.

Catherine was a devoted stay at home mother to her two sons. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. She was a long-time, active member of Reed's Chapel Baptist Church where she spent years playing the piano and was church secretary. She was a talented seamstress and made many beautiful quilts that are cherished by her family. Catherine was also a very talented cook and everyone loved her baked apple pies.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Langford, to whom she was married for sixty-one years. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and service that will be cherished and aspired to by her surviving family and children, Joseph Wilson Langford (Carolyn), Timothy Yates Langford (Billie Ann), three grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas Langford (Rebecca), Dudley Thomas Langford, and Amanda Dawn Spates (Eric Bowen) and six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose, Rachael, Mike, Corey, Levi, and Georgia.

A visitation for Catherine will be held at Reed's Chapel Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 2 at 1:00 PM EST. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM.

The interment will be at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reed's Chapel Baptist Church in her memory.

Valley Point Funeral Home in Lanett, Alabama, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
