Celia Diane
Byess
June 23, 1964 – May 31, 2026
Celia Diane Byess, age 61, of Lanett, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on May 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 23, 1964, in West Point, Georgia, Diane lived a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to those she cherished most. She was a graduate of Cherokee High School and spent part of her career working as a machinist before dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker.
Diane was known for her outgoing personality, energetic spirit, and sassy sense of humor. She never met a stranger and brought joy to those around her with her warmth and genuine kindness. She loved spending time outdoors and found happiness in building projects, camping, riding motorcycles, and painting. Above all else, she treasured her family and the moments they shared together.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Byess; her children, Randi (William) Foster, Joey (Brandy) Byess, and Chelsea (Jessie) Santoyo; and her beloved grandchildren, Katelin Foster, Adron Foster, Easton Byess, Truit Santoyo, Kolton Hull, and Remi Santoyo. She is also survived by her mother, Celia Pollard; her siblings, Terry Pollard and James Pollard; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Pollard Sr., and her brother, Billy Ray Pollard Jr.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as a woman who loved fiercely, laughed often, and always made family her highest priority. Her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to those she cared for will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Chattahoochee Hospice or Spencer Cancer Center in Diane's memory.
Though she will be greatly missed, the love and memories she leaves behind will be treasured forever.
