Doris Marie (Champion) Story of Tyler, TX, age 85, passed away peacefully June 17, 2013. Doris was born on April 26, 1928, in Shawmut, Alabama, and one of 7 children to the late Claud and Neva (Miller) Champion. She grew up in Valley, AL where she went to high school. Doris was primarily a nurse for much of her life and was a beloved member of the Champion, and even more loved by her daughters and grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Paula Story, her grandchildren Jason (Lisa Moran) McKinney and Heather (Robert) Radick; great-grandchildren, Kyle Boyer, Aaron Boyer, Aubrey (Nicki) McKinney, Cole Moran, and Danyelle Moran-McKinney; great-great-granddaughter, Everley, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Doris Story’s cremains will be laid to rest with her daughter, Ann Story, at Shawmut Cemetery, in Lanett, AL, on September 12, 2026. A graveside service will be held for both Ann and Doris at 11 AM, that day. Friends, family, and loved ones are encouraged to attend.
