On September 16, 2019, James Larry Andrews passed away at the age of 70. Larry was born in Fairfax, Alabama on August 20, 1949. He was a baptized Christian, never met a stranger, was quick to help anyone in need and was an avid Auburn University fan. He loved his extended family.

Larry was the son of the late James Bruce Andrews and Sarah Jim McGraw Andrews. He is survived by his daughter, Sommer Nicole Abrams, and granddaughter, Zoey Rain Andrews, brother Gerald Bruce Andrews, Sr (Claire); three nieces and nephews, Andy Andrews (Michael), Suzanne Andrews Smith (Charles), and Benjy Andrews (Mary); and seven great-nieces and nephews, and scores of cousins and extended family.

He attended Fairfax Schools, Valley High, Southern Union and Columbus State University. Larry worked for West Point Pepperell for many years in screen-printing, Industrial Engineering, Retail Stores Division and as a supervisor in the finishing operation.

His primary avocation was music, but he was also an accomplished carpenter, woodworker and creative artist. A self-taught musician, like his father and grandmother, he played several instruments including lead-guitar, bass guitar and keyboard. He was also a talented vocalist, writing and recorded several songs. In his graduation class at Valley High School he was selected Most Talented boy. As a musician, he helped organize and develop two bands—THE STOLEN CHILDREN and SILVER. They performed all over the Southeast at universities, on stage and in a variety of venues. They were very talented musicians, playing Rock, Pop, Country and Western, and were the opening act for numerous famous performers including Lionel Richie and the COMMODORES, B. J. Thomas and many others. THE STOLEN CHILDREN were invited to New York City to play on the famous CBS–TV program—THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW.

On Saturday, September 21st, a Family Visitation will be held at 11 AM EDT, at Bluffton Funeral Services, 1011 N. Lanier Ave, Lanett, AL, followed by a Memorial Celebration of his life at 12 Noon EDT. Reverend Steve Garnett will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry's name should be made to Chattahoochee Hospice, Inc, 6 Medical Park, Valley, AL 36854.
