Obituary

James "Jim" Robert Browne passed away at his home in Pine Mountain, Georgia on May 19, 2023 at the age of 78. He was born on January 17, 1945 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Helen Margaret Roseman Browne and Russell Harrison Browne. He was preceded in death by his brother Frances R. "Charlie" Browne and a Stepdaughter Kathleen Goode

Mr. Browne is survived by his wife Judy Carol Harrison Browne, his children, daughter Michelle Browne Botticello (Toney), granddaughter Angelia of Gloucester, Virginia, son James "Jimmy" Robert Browne, Jr., grandsons Shawn and Brian Browne of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is also survived by a brother Leonard T. "Lenny" Browne and companion MaryLu DeBlass of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. Other survivors include Step-Children Lisa and Thavin Emerson, Lori and Steve DeLong, Yvonne and Michael Salvatore, Shelia and Leon Brewer, Veronica and Louis Jernigan, Christy Hammett, Randy, Jr. and Sandy Hovey and Billy Gay. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Browne is also survived by his brother-in-law Hubert Ralph Harrison and sister-in-law Ann Harrison.

Mr. Browne proudly served in HHC 3D BN 325th INF 82D ABN Div. 3D US Army RA Infantry from February 11, 1963 to February 11, 1966.

Mr. Browne was a truck driver for FFM Trucking Company for twenty years and remained close friends with his former boss, Bill Yanish and his wife, Susie.

Mr. Browne retired as Captain of the Troup County Correctional Institute Work Release in December of 2010 after ten years of service.

Mr. Browne was a thirty-year member of the American Legion Post 75.

Mr. Browne was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Visitation for Mr. Browne will be Tuesday, May 30th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM EST at Bluffton Funeral Services at 1011 N. Lanier Avenue in Lanett, Alabama with the Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 PM EST.

Interment will be on Wednesday, May 31st at Fort Mitchell Military Cemetery at 1:30 PM Est.

Services have been entrusted to Bluffton Funeral Services, Lanett, Alabama.
