Jo Ann Borders Smith, 63 passed away on Sunday December 10, 2017 at her residence in Lanett, Alabama.Mrs. Smith was born on March 11, 1954 in Langdale Alabama, the daughter of Fred and Ruby Borders.

Jo Ann was a loving housewife and friend who never met a stranger and had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a special love for dogs, demonstrated by the affection she had for her own dogs "Racer" and "Tippy Toes"

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruby Borders.

She is survived by her husband James Smith of Lanett, Alabama; her sister Linda(Morris) Henderson of Powder Springs, Georgia; her brother Scott Borders of Anderson Indiana; son Jared Wells of Opelika, Alabama; aunt Sylvia Gresham Valley, Al; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13,2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bluffton Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Chattahoochee Valley Humane Society.
