Joel Carter, 82, of LaGrange Georgia passed away on July 16, 2019 at LaGrange Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia. Joel was born in Columbus, Georgia on September 28, 1936 to the late Marvin and Grace Carter.

Joel was Plant Manager at Extol Manufacturing in Ohio before retiring in LaGrange Georgia. Joel loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an active member of Roper Heights Baptist Church.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Judy Worrell.

He is survived by wife Joe Anne Carter of LaGrange, GA.; daughter Patti(Hoss) Caldwell of LaGrange, GA; sons Jeffery A Carter of LaGrange, Georgia and Michael R Carter of Cusseta, AL.; Grandchildren Joshua(Amanda) Carter, Ashley (Randell) Ruston, Joseph Carter, and Ruth Anne Carter all of LaGrange, GA.; sister Mary Mulford of Eclectic, AL. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends for visitation on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM EDT at Bluffton Funeral services in Lanett, AL. Services will be Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM EDT at Roper Heights Baptist Church in West Point GA. A private graveside service will be family only.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or LaGrange Hospice.
