Bluffton Funeral Services respectively announces the passing of Mrs. Margaret Scott Cathey on July 16, 2019.

Mrs. Cathey was born November 26, 1925 in Valdosta, GA. She was a graduate of Goldsboro High School, Goldsboro North Carolina and Agnes Scott College.

Following a private graveside ceremony, a Service of Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 am EDT at First Presbyterian Church, 1002 5th Ave. West Point, Georgia 31833.

She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Anderson Scott and Rev. Dr. L.R. Scott; two brothers, Neal A. Scott Jr. and Dr. Legh R. Scott, Jr.; and her husband Vance L. Cathey. She is survived by her children Elizabeth C. Elkins and Vance L." Lee" (Ann Pound) Cathey; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cathey had a servant's heart and devoted her life to her family, her community, and her church. Her children wishes to thank her Vernon Woods family for their many years of kind support; and her caregivers for their tireless and loving ministrations during the past year.
