Mrs. Marilyn Chesek, 89, of West Point, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.

Mrs. Chesek was born on February 9, 1937, in Burnsville, North Carolina to the late Charles M. Holcombe and Edna L. Ray Holcombe.

She attended Dundalk High School in Dundalk, Maryland, and was a homemaker. She loved reading, gardening, cooking, sewing and she loved all animals. She was a mom / Mima to everyone. As a young homemaker, her door was always open to all of the neighborhood children and friends.

Mrs. Chesek was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chesek was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Frank David Chesek, Sr., her son Frank David Chesek Jr., her sister, Daphne Holcombe Morris and her brothers, Charles, Everett, and Dennis. 

Survivors include Cathy Chesek Railey (Dewey) of West Point, Georgia, Cindy Chesek Copley (Jr.) of Morehead, Kentucky, and a special niece, Jennifer (Ray) Lanier. Survivors also include her beloved grandchildren, Alex Murray, Hillary Murray, Chesley Railey, Cody Murray, Brock Railey (Lydia), Kaylor Murray, Kelly Murray, Chloe Railey Corne (Aaron) and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chattahoochee Humane Society in Valley, Alabama in memory of Mrs. Marilyn Chesek.

Visitation for Mrs. Chesek is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM EDT, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Valley-Point Funeral Home Chapel in Lanett with Pastor Blake Alford officiating.
