Mark Byron Dickinson of Lanett, Alabama went to his heavenly home on March 16, 2021. Mark was born in Decatur, Alabama on May 22, 1961.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Betty Dickinson and his sister Anita Faye Smith.
He leaves behind his wife Shirley Dickinson ; son Russell (Tina) Dickinson; daughter Brittney (Garrett) Young. Keith (Tonna) Wilson, Samantha Roundtree and Steven (Jenny) Mooney; Sisters Jo Ellen Weldon of Lanett, Robin (Chris)McCollough of Trinity, Alabama, Paula (Kenneth) Fuller of LaGrange, Georgia and Joyce (John) Pitcher of Florida; grandchildren Addison Dickinson, Presley Dickinson, Carter Hadaway, Carson Pawley, Ella Wilson, Eli Wilson and Drake Mooney.
Mark worked for West Point Stevens for 27 years and spent the rest of his days as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather "Pops". His love for Jesus was only rivaled by his love for horses. He spent his life training horses and on trail rides with his family and friends. Pops preached the gospel everywhere he went. He loved the mountains, the lake and camping. Whether in a church, the jail ministry, and the Cancer Center, he leaves behind a legacy that Christ is the standard of which a man should strive to be.
The family will greet friends for visitation on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett, Alabama. Services and interment will be private family only.
