Mary Gwen Potts, 79 , passed away on July 3, 2019 at her residence in Lanett, Alabama.

She was born in Franklin Georgia as one of eleven children to MD and Mary Elizabeth Potts on April 21, 1940.

Mary was a retired weaver and smash hand at West Point Pepperell Dixie Plant in LaGrange, Georgia. She enjoyed gardening and looking for antiques. She was an active member of Happy Valley Church in Huguley, Alabama. Mary loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved all her animals and especially her little dog named Shaggy. She also loved sharing memories of her past with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her brother Travis Potts; her daughters Elaine Black Marshall, and Alisha Dodgen Patterson; her son Jim E Dodgen; grandchildren Brandon Wright, Savannah Marshall, Frankie Richardson, Jeffery Richardson, Kayla Black, Ajia McGuire, Morgan McGuire, Gracen Patterson, Jim Z Dodgen and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Franklin Lee Black Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at Happy Valley Church in Huguley Alabama on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2:pm EDT. The family will greet friends at the church at 1:00 pm EDT for visitation.

Graveside services will be held at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia following the funeral service. Reverend John Samanie will officiate.
