Minnard (Sonny/Bubba) Winston Knight Jr. passed away Thursday, July 6th, 2023, at the age of 53 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA surrounded by his family.

Sonny was born on October 9, 1969 in Valley, AL to parents Minnard and Jeannie (Robertson) Knight. He graduated from Lanett High School in 1988. He was employed as an ironworker out of the Atlanta Ironworkers Union (Local 387). He loved his work and gave himself to it for over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his Father Minnard Winston Knight Sr. in 2020. Sonny is survived by his mother Jeannie Knight, his two sons, King Winston Knight (Bailey), Ethan Bishop Knight (Devyn), his daughter Alexia Nicole Knight, his ex-wife Amy Bowman Knight, his sister Cindy Suellen Knight (Amy), and two grandchildren, Cooper Winston and Piper Caroline Knight.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 30th beginning at 3:00 p.m. (CST) at the Pointe University Golf Club/Event Center 2001 Country Club Rd. Lannett, AL 36863.

A short service will begin at 3:30 p.m. (CST) (son Ethan Knight officiating). Friends are welcome to visit with the family after the service until 5:00 p.m. (CST)
