It is with great sadness, yet with great joy that we announce the passing of Nell McClendon Phillips. The sadness comes from the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, sister and her precious friends.

The joy comes from knowing that she is safe, happy and healthy in the arms of the Father.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Red Phillips and daughter, Kay Phillips Freeman.

Nell was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to helping others, and in service to our Lord and Savior.

She will be remembered by her independence, strength and loyalty to her family and faith.

Nell is survived by her daughter, Jan Moncus (David), granddaughters, Meagan Michard (Todd) and Logan Jones, great-children, Jayden Jones and McClendon Jones, and one sister, Betty Fuller. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 11:00 AM EST from Oakwood Cemetery.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Bluffton Funeral Services, 1011 North Lanier Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
