Obituary

Phillip Jackson McLain, 56 year old resident of West Point, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. McLain was born Tuesday, August 2, 1960, in Langdale, Alabama, the son of the late James Edwin and Mary Fay Neville McLain. He graduated both from Troup High School and Troup Tech. Mr. McLain grew up on his family's dairy farm just east of West Point. His work ethic and love for animals were instilled in him early in his life. He worked as a truck driver with Kleentex, Roadway and finally driving for himself. Mr. McLain was a member of First Baptist Church of West Point and a Deacon.

Survivors include his sons and their fiancées: Tyler James McLain and Candace Cooper and Phillip Justin McLain and Leslie Fox; his grandson, Jaxon Tyler McLain; his sisters-in-law, Marge McLain and Connie McLain.

The family will greet friends Sunday, May 7, 2017, in the First Baptist Church of West Point at 2:00 PM EDT, with the funeral service starting in the Sanctuary at 3:00 PM EDT. Dr. Tom Tucker will officiate.
