Rachel Faye
Hill Caines
March 30, 1933 – August 9, 2017
Community Chapel Church of God
Starts at 3:00 pm
Mrs. Rachel Faye Hill Caines, 84, of Lanett passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Mrs. Caines was born on March 30, 1933, and raised in Lanett until marrying the love of her life, her late husband Lewis Clifford Caines. Mr. Caines was in the U.S. Army at the time of their marriage, so his service to our country took them to live in many places over the years. Mrs. Caines enjoyed going to church and the fellowship of her many church friends. She was a very generous and caring person. She loved giving so much, one of her late sister's Rudine used to say that "Rachel would buy it through the front door and give it away out the back door." That was a very true and fitting statement for Mrs. Rachel Caines. Mrs. Caines had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by all that had the pleasure to know her.
Mrs. Caines was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Lee Hill and Myrtle E. Hill of Lanett, sisters Rudine Hornsby of Lanett, Evelyn H. Jennings of Fairfax and a brother Thomas Hill Jr. of Lanett. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Myrtis (Wade) Townsend of Baytown, Texas, children Tony Lewis Caines of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Kerry Craig (Rita) Caines of Birmingham, Alabama, Terry Clifford (Sheryl) of Woodway, Texas, grandchildren, Emily Nguyen of Buena Park California, Debra (Aaron) Jones Bruceville, Texas, Amanda Caines of Woodway, Texas, David Caines of Woodway, TX, granddaughter, Ava Nguyen of Buena Park, California, a lifelong friend Mrs. Betty M. Hull of LaGrange, Georgia.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM EDT at Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett with Reverend Loren Sutton officiating.
In lieu of flowers since this is a memorial service, the family suggests that a donation in Mrs. Caines honor be made to the American Cancer Society.
