Obituary

Roger Douglas Brown of LaGrange, GA passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 2, 2024, after declining health. Roger passed away overlooking the lake he loved, in his cabin that he, his wife and children built by hand in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Sallie Brown of 42 years who he built a wonderful life with. Left to also cherish his memory are his five children, Trey McDonnell of Opelika, AL, Katie (Jay) Thompson of Senoia, GA, Danielle Milanowitz (Jeffrey) of Fort Worth, TX, Stephen (Jennifer) Brown of Cullman, AL, and Timothy (Makala) Hightower of Opelika, AL. Roger was also blessed with eight grandchildren left to cherish his legacy, Anna (CJ) McDonnell, Zachery McDonnell, Chloe Thompson, Matthew Grantham, Scott Grantham, Sibley Brown, Jonathan Wright and Brock Taylor.

Roger was born in Atlanta, GA on March 11, 1945, on the 3rd base of the old Fulton County stadium to the late Roger M. Brown and Dean Brown. Roger is survived by one sister, Becky Roberson and was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Wayne Brown and sister, Dee Roberts.

Roger was an accomplished electrician, plumber, and jack of all trades. Roger often talked of his valuable time spent in the Marines. Roger was a tinkerer, a collector and could fix anything. He often spent his time traveling to numerous cities across the US with Sallie picking up tractors found on GovDeals.

Roger lived a life of love and hard work for his family. He was devoted to and loved his family more than anything.

Roger's treasured life will be honored with a private burial in Gay, GA on Thursday, September 5, 2024, followed by a private celebration of life with family on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Senoia, GA.
