Mrs. Sara Merritt, 84, of Cusseta Alabama passed away at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama on September 20, 2018.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM EDT followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 PM EDT at Bluffton Funeral Services Chapel, Lanett Alabama.

Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Cemetery.

Reverend Russell Letson will officiate.

Sara was born in Camp Hill AL. on September 11, 1934 to the late Grady and Odessa Henderson. She was a graduate of Camp Hill High School.

Sara was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Merritt, son Kenny Merritt, sister Hazel Fleck, and brother Grady Henderson. She is survived by her sons Ronnie (Tammy) Merritt, Donnie(Tammy) Merritt, sister Jean(Rayford) Duck; brothers Len Henderson and Ben(Inez) Henderson; Grandchildren Chase Merritt, Christalyn(Jake) Thomas, Kyle(Brooke) Hudmon, Derek(Courtney)Smith, Jaimie Smith; Great Grandchildren Harper Hudmon, Easton Hudmon, and special friend Lurlene Mann.

Miss Sara enjoyed spending time with her family and seeing about her cows at her family farm. She enjoyed reading in her later years. She was also an avid football fan.

In liew of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Cusseta Volunteer Fire Department, Cusseta Alabama.
