A beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend, Yvonne Wright, age 82, passed away peacefully in her home on November 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories and a family who will miss her more than words can say. If there was one thing that meant more to her than anything else it was her family. She loved her people fiercely and found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved.
Throughout her career as a radiologic technologist, she demonstrated an unwavering passion and dedication for caring for others. Her gentle nature, kind heart and commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on her patients, coworkers and everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her love for her profession was more than just a career; it was a calling and the difference she made will never be forgotten. Her legacy of compassion, dedication and service will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
She had a special love for flowers and found beauty in the simple things God placed around her. Her flowers brought her happiness and reflected the beauty and kindness she carried in her own heart.
She was also a devoted Auburn fan and her love for Auburn and tailgating was something her family and friends knew well. Saturdays filled with football, cheering on her Tigers and sharing those moments with loved ones were among the little joys that made her life special.
She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her love, her memories and all the little things that made her so special. Her presence will be missed at family gatherings, her love will be felt in the things she taught us and every beautiful flower will be a reminder of her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Eldred and Elizabeth McDonald, her husband, Anthony Wright and her daughter, Michelle Lane. Yvonne leaves behind a beloved son-in-law, Tony Lane, her devoted grandchildren, Jacob and Dani Huerta, Hannah and Bryson Harper, Jonathan Lane, Kaci Lane and 9 great grandchildren (Evie, Reagan, Danilee, Denver, Emma, Charleigh, Keeghan, Bristol, and John Michael) as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026 at Langdale Methodist Church in Valley, AL at 2:00 pm est. with committal to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett, Al. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service for family and friends at 1:00 p.m. est in the church sanctuary. The church will provide lunch for the family at 12:00 p.m. est in the fellowship hall.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Chattahoochee Hospice in her memory.
